Jamaica College was denied the ISSA Schoolboys treble after they were beaten 3-0 by Clarendon College in the Olivier Shield play-off at stadium east on Wednesday as the season came to an end.

Marques Reid, Devonti Hodges, and Keheim Dixon scored for the daCosta Cup champions in the repeat of the 2019 game that was also won by Clarendon College, the only two losses in the Olivier Shield by Jamaica College dating back to 1969, 54 years.

Jamaica College had earlier won the Manning Cup, beating St Andrew Technical in the final, and the ISSA Champions Cup after beating Kingston College in that final.

It was the fifth outright win in the Olivier Shield for Clarendon College as they shared it in 1998 with Dunoon Technical.

It was the first loss of the season for Jamaica College and their biggest loss in years.

After not playing since they won the daCosta Cup two weeks ago, against Central High, Clarendon College looked more rested and took the game to Jamaica College and were rewarded with two goals in a two minutes span in the first half.

Jamaica College’s goalkeeper Rassico Rose managed to get his fists to a shot from Malachi Douglas in the 19th minute but the ball fell to Reid who fired it back across the goal into the far right corner to give Clarendon College the lead.

It was 2-0 three minutes later as once again Jamaica College failed to deal with a ball in their area and Hodges hit a weak clearance on the volley back past Rose at his left post.

Tarick Ximines just missed scoring for Jamaica College at the end of the first half but his header flew straight to Clarendon’s goalkeeper Romeo Daniels.

Clarendon College put Jamaica College out of their miseries late in the game when Dixon fired past Rose in the 84th minute.
